D. Stephenson Construction provided Design Build Services for the new 10,000 SF library. This Design Build project includes an interlocal agreement between the City and County. The design and construction of improvements are adjacent to Dania Beach City Hall. The library is occupied by the Broward County Library System with a separate section for the Dania Beach’s Friends of the Library. In addition, there is a multi-purpose room for civic functions. Additional improvements for parking, landscaping and other services were provided. The improvements were integrated between the library facilities, the current facilities and the construction coordination to minimize disruption of the City Hall activities. Wiring for computers and other communication needs were provided. The library components include: offi ce spaces, youth services, tutoring room, community display, circulation area, staff lounge and kitchen. The City of Dania Beach is pursuing LEED Gold Certifi cation for this project.
